Seating Systems

We develop entire front and rear seat systems, as ordered by the customer, or adapt derivatives. We have comprehensive know-how in the following areas:

• Steel, light-alloy, plastic and CFRP seat structures;
• Seat mechanisms, from rigid seats to all-electric seats;
• Suitable foams, covers and attachments.

In addition, we design appropriate seat kinematics and determine adjustment ranges for perfect ergonomics, up-to-date comfort and long-term functionality. Among other things, we use advanced simulation tools for comfort assessment.

Within Semcon, there is close cooperation in this subunit with the calculation and analysis specialists for the purpose of optimizing strength, stiffness and crash performance. The result is the optimum use of materials, and consequently maximum seat structure performance with minimum weight and at minimal cost.
