Wiring Harness & Electrics

Owing to the changeover to efficient bus systems, the last few years have seen a veritable revolution in the Wiring Harness & Electrics unit. Today our range of services comprises concept development, circuit diagram design and wiring harness engineering:

• In concept development we design and verify the on-board power supply,
  make the grounding concept, define the connection points and calculate the
  rough power budget.
• In circuit diagram design we create the system circuit diagrams and develop
  the cable connection diagrams from them.
• Wiring harness engineering involves installation space studies, positioning and
  mounting of components, and installation of lines. The 3-D data from wiring
  harness engineering are then combined with the 2-D data of the cable
  connection diagrams to create a wiring harness drawing.

In addition, Semcon is the right partner for the development of wiring harnesses for small series and samples for prototypes. A further aspect of wiring harness development is the use of new, lighter materials. Here the development of innovative grounding and fuse protection concepts is an important target, the purpose being to reduce the cross sections of wires and thus cut weight.

The protection concept is more important than in the past since the systems have become more complex and high-voltage and low-voltage technologies are used parallel to each other.
